Kate & Tim | A Family Farm Engagement with a Twist

Since Kate and Tim are planning a fall 2016 wedding, Kate knew right away that she wanted their engagement session to have similar colors and the same crisp autumn vibe. Easy-peasy. They also knew that they wanted the session to take place on Tim's family farm property in McLeansville: cotton fields, cows, ponds, an original red barn--all that combined with the beautiful fall colors for the exact feel Kate and Tim wanted.

Here comes the twist.

Tim called me a week or so before the session to let me know he was planning a surprise for Kate; he really wanted to make their engagement session special for her, and he wanted to let me in on his plans. See, when Kate was little, her dad had a 1969 Camaro SS that he loved to death, and he taught Kate to love it, too. Unfortunately, Kate's dad passed away when she was about ten years old, and shortly thereafter, her mom was compelled to sell his Camaro. Kate remembered it, though; Camaros are the reason Kate and Tim started talking (and eventually got together!), and they are the reason Kate and Tim purchased their own brand new Camaro (the silver beauty above).

So what was Tim's surprise? He tracked down the current owner of Kate's dad's Camaro and arranged for her to bring the car out to McLeansville for the session. He knew Kate would be floored.

And, guys, the emotions. Kate was completely blindsided; Tim, knowing how much it meant to her, was teary-eyed; Tim's mother, taking video for them on Kate's iPhone, was crying--seeing how touched Kate was tugged at everyone's heartstrings.

Plus we got to take some really awesome photos with a beautiful classic car. Win-win, right?

We are really thrilled to be able to participate in Kate and Tim's October 2016 wedding in Chapel Hill, and look forward to lots more awesome memories with them in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of their sweet engagement session!
