This is it, guys! This is the one! Not only was Matt & Soleille's wedding our final COVID postponement, but...*drum roll*...

It was our 100th wedding! Happy 100th wedding to us! We are relentlessly grateful to all the amazing couples we get to work with, the impeccable vendor teams we get to work alongside, and all the lovely locations where we get to create colorful wedding magic!

Like the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh! With how central the museum is to the downtown Raleigh experience, it's amazing that it took us until wedding #100 to shoot here, but here we finally were. Matt & Soleille stuck it out through a myriad of COVID postponements complicated by Soleille's residency schedule, but they were determined to have the big party they planned. Having been together for 13 years (!) prior to their wedding day, they wanted to give themselves this landmark experience: a day to focus on themselves, the scope of their relationship, their ultimate "Finally!"

They crafted a gorgeous day with a lot of meaning: As children, if Soleille and her brother behaved well in church—at the Church of the Good Shepherd, where Matt & Soleille held their ceremony—their parents would allow them to walk the two blocks to the museums to spend the afternoon  among fossils and animal friends. It only made sense for Matt & Soleille to plan their wedding reception at that same museum! (Having their first dance under the Museum's huge acrocanthosaurus skeleton sweetened the deal, of course.)

With the incredible Ryan Levin, a friend of the couple's from college as well as being a fantastic DJ, Matt & Soleille curated a playlist that kept the dance floor filled all evening—guests belted out Four Non-Blonde's "What's Going On," circled up for "Sweet Caroline," and cha-cha'd real smooth to the "Cha-Cha Slide." In two moves that were utterly new to me, Soleille's high-energy, fun and funny group of bridesmaids busted out a fantastic crab dance to the "Crab Rave," and Soleille spent most of Prince's "Purple Rain" using her new husband's arm as an air guitar. (Possibly one of my favorite images of 2022 so far!)

Matt & Soleille spent the entire day reveling in one another. From their adorable flood-of-emotion reactions during their first look to all the glances they snuck at each other during their ceremony, from the laughter they couldn't suppress during all their portraits to falling into one another's arms throughout the night, their joy was boundless and tangible. These two deserve every happiness that married life can bring them, and they waited so long to get it that it's surely going to be concentrated even more into the many long years ahead of them. Enjoy a scroll through some of my favorites from their day, soaking up all their very good vibes as you go and reflecting them right back at this amazing couple!
