Megan & Mike | Durham Engagement Photography

In a lot of ways, it's a small world. We met Mike & Megan at a wedding show in January. A few days prior to that, Megan reached out to me via email, unrelated, because, as it turns out, her Michael and my Michael both work at Merck—her Mike had sent a LinkedIn message to my Mike a few weeks earlier asking about wedding photography. And, one more weird twist of fate, Mike and both of us Marchettos all grew up in the same area of Eastern Pennsylvania—he's from about an hour north of where we're from! Soooo needless to say, it's a shoo-in for us to be working together!

Megan & Mike's engagement session was originally scheduled for the weekend after all the COVID lockdowns started, making it a total no-go. We rescheduled again for early May, but since everything was still largely closed—especially in Durham, where city and county officials have been more cautious than the rest of the state—we elected to postpone again. And, voila! Beautiful, sunny evening in early June, not too hot, sunshine-y and gorgeous. Megan's sweet daughter Paisley joined us for a hike in Eno River State Park and a stroll through some favorite downtown Durham areas, getting to stay up way past her bedtime. Megan, as a former dancer, is well versed in body shapes and positions; Mike is goofy and sarcastic; and all together, they're a dream to photograph.
