Oh, hey, this is us! Hello!
It feels a little weird to share our personal photos on our blog, but we did make them, for what it's worth, and, I mean, we are incredibly adorable.
It feels important, also, for us to show you our hearts a little bit where we can; social media is full of talking and not-very-clever captions with silly questions and, try as I might, not quite as much of us as I would ever like. So here we are, with the main contents of our heart: our family.
Did you know that Mike and I are high school sweethearts? (I mean, probably you did, because I feel like I talk about it a lot...) Coming up in February 2022, we'll have been together for 19 years, married for 12 as of April 2022. Six years spent living in separate states while Mike was in the Navy and I was in college sharply refined our appreciation for time spent together, and we decided to spend a good long time married, just the two of us, before having kids. Not only did we feel secure and stable together, but we brought these kiddos into a home wrought by and filled with love.
Lindon, our son, is all fire. At his best, he lights up everything around him: he's quick with a joke, encouraging, ready to help, imaginative, inquisitive, and whip smart. Mattea, our daughter, is only 9 months old, so she's still seeding the ground of her personality; so far, though, she's independent, bold, and determined. We can't wait to see who she'll be.
For this little lightning-round mini-session, we painstakingly coordinated outfits, picked a delightful spot in our dear Durham (the gorgeous mural The Art of the Warli on Foster Street!), packed in the tripod and the remote trigger, and bam, here we are. Approximately 48 hours later, we had our Christmas cards ordered! I'm so glad we have these, and, frankly, am pretty proud of us for making them ourselves and getting the kids to (mostly) cooperate.
