Mallory & Justin | A Fun, Movie-Themed, Rained On Engagement Session in Wake Forest

This is going to be one of the most nebulous sentences ever, but neverthless: Some people are just your people, you know? Mallory & Justin...they're just our people. The first time I met Mallory, we had an extensive talk about body positivity and society's beauty standards--plus also Disney and Star Wars. The first time I met Justin, he asked me who my Star Trek captain was. (For the curious: It's Picard, always. <3 Jean-Luc <3) They met in Statesboro, as art students at Georgia Southern, and got engaged in the school's Sweetheart Circle of legend. They are sweet, introverted, fun, and super, super adorable together.

For their engagement session, Mallory & I talked about some of their favorite activities to do together, and she said they just really like to watch movies together, to which I said, "You know what would be fun..." So we headed to Marquee Cinemas in Wake Forest, where Mallory's parents live, and had some snacks and movie treats and made our own version of movie magic. We were contending with some tricky weather for the second half of our session, but we decided to take the chance...to which the weather said, "Hahaha" and poured on us within five minutes of us arriving at Joyner Park. Mallory & Justin were such champs, though, and decided to just power through our session with some big ol' umbrellas and slightly damp hair: the exact kind of tenacity and easy-spiritedness I love in my couples.

We had a lot of fun together, and their amazing wedding was even more beautiful fun than I imagined it would be--stay tuned for that soon, but in the meantime, enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!
