Maggie & Andrew | JC Raulston Arboretum Engagement Photography
Session: 25 May 2019 | Posted: 12 July 2019
Maggie & Andrew came to us via our wonderful friend Erica of Folie à Deux Events, who is coordinating their 2020 wedding. Their wedding will take place at one of our favorite places in Durham: the Museum of Life & Science. We're literally there almost every week! (We have a three-year-old, so can you really blame us?)
We're also—obviously!—so excited to be working with Maggie and Andrew in their own right. They're laid back, friendly smarties who chose the Museum for their wedding venue not only because they just love science, but because they used to go there as kids—a perfect tie-in to their Triangle roots though they now live in Virginia. Because they live out of the area, it was rather serendipitous that we got all officially booked right before Memorial Day weekend: they happened to be coming to town, I happened to have time for a session in the small window in which they, also, had time. Delightful!
The JC Raulston Arboretum, aside from being gorgeous and in full bloom by the end of May, made another obvious choice as Andrew and Maggie both—independently and long unbeknownst to one another!—took their senior portraits there! Pay special attention to the final photo in the group: they requested photos with some agave plants as they took a celebratory trip to Mexico when they got engaged and learned all about agave.
We are so psyched to photograph Maggie & Andrew's wedding next year—until then, enjoy a selection of my favorites from their engagement session below and wish them well in the comments!
