Julia & Jake | A Sweet, Early Morning Downtown Cary Engagement
Session: 21 July 2018 | Posted: 31 August 2018
Some people are morning people. I am decidedly not among them.
All the same, that doesn't change two big facts in my life: my son is a dedicated early riser, and I love early morning photo sessions. If we get cool, creamy sunrise light, that's a bonus, but even if we don't—like with Julia & Jake's engagement session, which was pleasantly cool and overcast—there's something serene about being up and about before most of the rest of the world.
We started Julia & Jake's session at the Amtrak station in downtown Cary. They spent a solid chunk of their relationship long-distance between Charlotte and the Triangle, riding trains to visit one another, and wanted to do homage to that era of their life. Plus, Jake proposed at the train station on one such trip, so it has an even deeper significance for them! We spent the rest of the session wandering around downtown Cary, ending with chai teas for them (and coffee for me, because duh) at the visually striking Brew Coffee Bar.
We're psyched for their Matthews House wedding coming up in November! In the meantime, enjoy a selection of my favorites from their session, and wish them the best in the comments!
