Ashley & Jarrett | A Giggly and Adorable Engagement at Dorothea Dix Campus

Ashley & Jarrett have got to be one of the Triangle's most adorable couples.

I should preface this by saying that I love these guys. They are our tribe, y'all. When we met the first time, Ashley and I bonded immediately over a mutual love of elephants, brought on by her amazing elephant skirt (which she wore for their engagement session!--see below). She is a super-organized literature lover. Jarrett is a self-proclaimed nerd whom I'm sure, given the opportunity, could talk with Michael for hours about online games and building computers. We hit it off right out of the gate, and I am so excited that we get to photograph their brunch wedding at The Cotton Room in Durham next October.

For their engagement session, they wanted somewhere pretty they could bring their sweet and energetic rescue dog, Vivi. (Seriously, how adorable is she?) I thought the Dorothea Dix campus in downtown Raleigh would be perfect and, lo and behold, it was. We had a perfect array of circumstances: a rescheduled session for me allowed our 8:00 a.m. call time to get bumped back to the evening, the weather was gorgeous, we had beautiful sunlight, and, best of all, we weren't competing for real estate as the entirety of the Dix campus was almost empty.

And y'all, Ashley and Jarrett are the kind of couple that make our job feel and look easy. All of these smiles and giggles? All them. All the cuddles and the way they look so easy, so perfectly comfortable in each other's arms? All them. It's them all over. They are so sweet and so in love that they are radiant to be around.

Check out some of our favorites from their utterly precious engagement session below, and look out for more from them when they get married next year!
