Katie & Ja's American Tobacco Campus engagement was one of my last pre-lockdown sessions. Downtown Durham and everything Durham Bulls-centered were central to the early days of their relationship, so it was fitting to head back there for their engagement session. Since it was early March, it was still cool, which just meant that Katie & Ja got to rock their custom Bulls jerseys—featuring the date of their upcoming wedding celebration!—for longer than expected. Plus, possibly my favorite part: blooming cherry blossoms, the only glimpse I got of them for 2020!
These guys are fun and funny, smart and sarcastic, and an absolute blast to be around. I can't wait to photograph them for their Asheville elopement later this month, and again for their big celebration (COVID-permitting...) in October!
