When we're starting the conversation about planning an engagement session, the default advice I give couples is to think about where you like to go together, what you like to do: places, activities, ideas that are integral to your relationship. Megan & Allen took this to heart and came up with an amazing day-in-the-life plan: They often take their puppers to get coffee from Whisk & Rye's coffee cart in Northgate Park of a Sunday morning (but we left the pups home for the session due to anticipated craziness!); they enjoy a sunny Parts & Labor beer hang whenever possible; and, according to Megan, what would be most authentic to include would be "shoving burgers in [their] faces" at Dain's——which we of course had to incorporate, but making the shoving delicate.

This all combined into a session plan for which I was very excited. Our planned date ended up being a little colder than we had hoped, but coffee, beer, and burgers helped everyone power through.

And honestly, even if there weren't a delightfully fun and varied plan in place, I still would have loved hanging out with Allen & Megan. These two are utterly delightful, the kind of couple with whom I have the pleasure of a free-flowing conversation the entire time. It helps that Megan, like me, is an easy laugh, so the session and the conversation both are pleasantly giggly. Every bit of it makes me even more excited for their 2023 Museum of Life & Science wedding. Until I can grace you screens with that, though, enjoy my favorites from their engagement session below!
